A fellow surveyor/engineer sent that my way just yesterday.?ÿ It came from his former roommate who is an Electrical Engineer who has worked in the prosthetics industry for 45 years assisting in the design of various marvels for humans.

Some people like to complicate things just to show off. Here's a non-calculus solution, but I don't know why the mathedmatician thought it was an area problem. Could be a good bridge problem between Precalc and Calc, though, with a bit of work.
