Last week we had freezing rain and snow at this time. ?ÿThis afternoon we hit 66 with strong winds out of the southwest. ?ÿThe weatherman broke in a few minutes ago to announce a tornado on the ground along I-44 midway between Joplin and Springfield, Missouri.
Meanwhile, blizzard conditions in northwest Kansas has I-70 completely shut down.
I have my usual stash of work clothing behind the seats in my truck.?ÿ Everything from my heavy parka to a flimsy flannel shirt.?ÿ Several days last week I scraped ice from the truck in the AM and drove home of the afternoon in shirt sleeves with the window rolled down.?ÿ Pretty typical weather for Oklahoma except it's been so damned dry.
One day last week my fingers got really cold while I set up my base in the morning.?ÿ I warmed myself in the truck before I took off on foot and wore my heavy gloves.?ÿ When I made it back to the truck a couple of hours later?ÿI had almost all my cold weather gear tied around my neck.
Yes same here. Last Tuesday we had a low of -3, high of 7, yesterday low of 45, high 70. All within the same week.
