I got a directive from a government agency that they have to change their NAD83 SPC projects to international feet starting Jan 1st to comply with NGS.?ÿ

I sent them the letter to the CLSA Jim Frame shared.?ÿ

Hopefully, it will put an end to the change.?ÿ

Nothing good can come from doing it before the 2022 coordinate systems come out in 2025.?ÿ

Then the change will be seamless.?ÿ

We put a clause in statute requiring us to use the units in place at the time the system was developed. That should avoid a lot of this silliness. Hopefully you can walk them out of the darkness...

I sure hope they read that. Because that will cause some issues for sure. Just had a cad person take my linework and pull it into cad. Sent him a separate csv file. Yep points didnƒ??t line up with the linework by 20 feet and he said something was wrong. I said you brought either the linework in international feet or the points. He cked yep. Thatƒ??s exactly what happened. ?ÿI am on a project right now we believe that will come down so we are trying to be prepared and proactive spreading the gospel. ?ÿIt will all change once new datum and coordinates systems come out.?ÿ
