Any thoughts on the proposed rule changes? I am just reading them now.

They will be discussed Thursday at the Board Meeting in Austin.

Link to Proposed Rules PDF.

How they presented it is a bunch of hooey! They don't quote the old and then the new for you to really make an informed opinion on it. I noticed a few new things, but I'm quite sure they didn't need a complete rewrite.

I think I know whom you can lay the format on. I believe it is someone in the board office that needs a different job.B-)

Jah, I'm scratching my head. I think it's a trick to get you to read the rules again. But, looks like they have some changes about responsible charge and firm registration, as well as a designating someone responsible for surveying at a firm. I would like to see a compendium of changes. I got some problems with a some of the wording.

Not sure if this is a change or not, about the Resident Professional Surveyor.

1. Spend a majority of normal business hours at a particular branch office;

So, how does an out-of-state person comply with this rule?

I don't recall anything saying your office has to be in Texas.

If that were the case, John West in Hobbs would have a problem and so would I when I am not on someone's payroll. My home base is in Oklahoma.
