Does anyone know the status of the Tennessee RTN? It went down this morning and is still down. I'm trying to figure out if I need to pull my crews back or not.
Any leap second issues from any Topcon users?
I've had calls from several surveyors in my area today about the TDOT RTN. It seems that the mount points for network solutions are not sending corrections but the single base mount point are. For example, if I choose Network RTCM 3.0 as my mount point I get an error message from SurvCe after it connects to TDOT saying "no corrections received from base". However, if I choose Closest RTCM 3.0 as my mount point, it logs in and goes fixed in a matter of seconds.
I've put a call in to TDOT's Design Division to let them know that we're having issues out here and apparently the guy in charge is on vacation this week but supposed to be monitoring his email. I'll post again if I hear back from him.
What type of network does TN run? I think the Leica Spider networks nationwide had a hiccup, BUT reports are now coming from NY and Leica's SmartNet that things are back and humming along, it looks like the GLONASS part choked on the GPS second, I guess the Russians were offended they didn't get a GLONASS second or some such 🙂

Thanks Stephen, we had problems today as well.

@Shelby H. Griggs PLS I believe that it is a Topcon based network....TopNet comes to mind.
I did get a call from the gentleman with TDOT who is supposed to be in charge of the RTN. He was aware of the issues but I got the impression that somehow the IT department at TDOT runs the network side of the RTN and that there was little he could do to fix the problem. I hope that the problems are impacting TDOT's crews so that the issue will be given the proper priority.

I'm 99% sure that it's a Topcon network.
We aren't able to get GLONASS SV corrections back on the INDOT network either. It's a Leica SmartNet RTN. I have crews up there too. It's amazing how the field guys now complain about only having 8 satellites to use now. :bored:
I am 100% sure it is a Topcon Network, as I installed several of the stations. Single Base mountpoints are working.
NY is back up and running, transmitting GLONASS corrections and all...

As far as I know all the Leica Spider networks are back to life, I follow a few across the USA due to having used them at some point in the past and still on the update e-mail list.

Tennessee RTN appears to be now operational.
