We had a couple of out TSC2's in for screen repair and when they came back in the TDS Survey Pro there was a new stateplane 'region' : NAD83(2011). We typically select the 'region' NAD83.
One of our guys used the new 'region' NAD83(2011) with the R8 and noticed a bust when checking in.
The details for NAD83(2011) show a small rotation for each axis and a translation of 3.259, -6.244, -1.728 in the x,y,z.
The bearing looks consistant with the reciprocal bearing of the movement of the Pacific Plate relative to the North American Plate but the magnitude is approx. 7'.
Anyone got any ideas as to what this is?:-S

That is doing a transformation from ITRF08 to NAD83. Trimble should change that name to avoid confusion, in my opinion. I have heard of a few different users making the same mistake

Thanks, So the shift is from the geocentric ITRF08 to the non-geocentric NAD83 ? I've seen the shift value stated as around 2 meters so that fits with the 7.25' 3d shift magnitude.

So Im trying to think where this would be used.

GIS users who are collecting points in a non relative mode (no Basestation) would use this to obtain NAD83 coordinates since the broadcast ephemeris is in WGS84 which is aligned with the ITRF08?
