Thinking of buying a used recon w/ Carlson software installed. My backup collector went tits up, and it is going to cost more than it is worth to fix it. I only have experience with Survey Pro, and Survey controller software. My main concern is "Will the raw data from conventional total stations be usable in terrmodel's Raw Data Editor?"
Also, are there any common problems with this collector?
Trying to look before I leap here.
Any advice will be appreciated.
It spits out rw5 file , pretty much the same as TDS.
As for Carlson, everything will work fine. It is great software, very similar to the pre-5.XX version, menus turned around.
I just had a customer that purchased a Recon and Carlson on eBay. Everything was in great shape. The customer came in after purchasing and wanted to upgrade the module for GNSS. When the serial number for Carlson SurvCE was sent in however, they found that it was a hacked program and unable to be upgraded. My point-not sure where you are getting it but I would advise that you call Carlson and verify the SurvCE serial number before you pay.
Just lookin out. Take care.
