Are you talking about strapping the tank to prevent uplift in high-water table situations?
Follow the tank manufacturer's advice about number of straps and strap placement. Most tank companies use nylon or poly straps now. Pour a hold-down pad in the bottom of the tank hole or use concrete deadmen. Make sure all metalic hardware is protected from corrosion. Run buoyancy calcs to make sure you have a safetly factor. A 10K tank can produce 40 tons of uplift!
Survey job only: tank measurement and incremental volumes table preparation + monitoring of tank's settlement as tank is getting filled.
Not from direct experience but hearing a story from someone who testified in a personal injury or death lawsuit.
Assuming this is a volatile fuel and you might be taking measurements of the liquid level in the tank (just the liquid is in the tank, not you!) using a dipping tape to measure the height of the liquid be aware that static electricity from the tape being unwound or wound can ignite the fumes. Oil dipping tapes should have a grounding cable. Don't use a fiberglass tape
You'll want to be wearing all natural fabrics if you'll be in the situation described above. Synthetic fabrics melt as they burn making a bad situation extremely bad i.e. they'll stick to what's left of your skin when they do.
Hope your situation keeps you at a safe distance. I've seen some horrible injuries in a pediatric burn unit.
Hi Friend,
Tank Strapping is nothing but strap tank at every 20% and 80% of each course by use of steel band with fix decided tension use of spring balance.
otherwise you can find all 20% and 80% circumference with help of bottom circumference strap and reflactorless laser total station. its given in MPMS standard.
i m tank calibrator.
