I have (2) T2000 instruments 1984-1986 models. Both instruments work well with old wild soft software and Gre3 and Gre4 Data Collectors. The problem i am having is getting it to work with the Carlson Explorer using SurvCe. It will turn on the T2000 but will not collect data. The Explorer has a field for using older wild instruments but still it will not talk to the Instrument. I have tried number of setting for baud rate, comp settings ,char lenths, and parity nothing seems to work. The Explorer works fine with the 1105 series leica instruments, but prefer to use older instrument. Can anyone help me through this.
Jeb,
This should work but.... Can you tell in Carlson whether the interface is using GeoCOM or GSI commands? There should be a parameter to be set when defining the instrument in Carlson. I am assuming the instrument you have is a TPS2000 series but if you are saying the instrument was made in the 1980's I may have to do more research.
THE INSTRUMENT IS OLD 1984 LEICA WILD HEERBRUGG AND BELIEVE THAT IT USES GSI COMMANDS. I WAS USING IN THE 80'S WHEN NEW INSTRUMENTS WERE BOUGHT IN 2001. THE NEW INSTRUMENTS ARE .05" FREE TURNING WITH NO LOWER MOTION LOCKS.THEY ARE LIGHT AND MOVE AROUND IN THE WIND AND TRAVERSE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. THE T2000 INSTRUMENTS ARE MORE STABLE AND GOOD WORKING COND. I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS WAYS TO CONNECT TO DATA COLLECTOR NOTHING WORKS
