A few weeks ago, I heard that the reason for the stripes on Zebras is that the pattern disrupts the vision of African Horseflies.
If that is really true, I think that's pretty neat!
Perhaps Surveyors should wear Zebra-striped clothing ... as long as it doesn't resemble a old-timey Chain Gang.

So that is why that certain Engineer/Survey firm that does a lot of USACE work has their boats zebra striped.
