Kind of a unique situation today. They have a balloon rally in our town every year. The balloons try and drop something on a target and they usually have a theme every year. This years theme is cowboys. I surveyed an outline of a cowboy on a horse today and laid it out on a large sheet of black plastic about 40 feet square. They normally mow it into the grass, but its been so dry there is no grass to mow. It took about 150 points.
The scary part is as the balloons fly over the target, they will be tossing out horse shoes this year. I wouldn't want to be the one scoring this years event. Imagine if the theme was bowling and they gave them bowling balls.

From what they're forecasting for the remnants of Issac over the next five days, looks like your dry spell is coming to an abrupt end.
I would think dropping road apples would be just as theme appropriate and far safer than steel horse shoes. 😉
When I was a member of a flying club we used to have a flour bombing contest. We would drop bags of flour out of the open window of a Cessna onto a target.
