the difference between survey controller and Trimble Access?

A simple rebranding, which occured about the time this thread kicked off.?ÿ So if you are still using Survey Controller you are using?ÿ software that is that old. Other than that, nothing really.?ÿ

Survey Controller has been out of production for ten years. At least as of the last time I compared them, Trimble Access runs the S6 much better than Survey Pro. There were features that didn't work right in Survey Pro. And in any case, Access is a far superior software all the way around.

@wallyp

Go to manage instruments on the right side of the screen, then click the + sign (add instrument), Name it whatever you want, under brand choose Trimble S/SPS/V series, under model pick S / SPS / VX. Mine is roboto so I chose Radio for connection then set your channel and ID to match the S6. That should be it, just choose that as the instrument you want to use.

I assume survey controller is Trimble software??ÿ If so I have used both quite a bit in the last couple years.?ÿ I would give a very slight edge to the Trimble software.?ÿ It just seems to work better on hooking up to the equipment.?ÿ We are currently using a newer Ranger with survey pro with R10's and an S5.?ÿ It works and works well but at times we have problems with hook ups.?ÿ It sometimes hangs up on the blue tooth hook up and usually just restarting survey pro fixes it.?ÿ I prefer survey pro for the way it works though but both are good and easy to use.
