A simple job, I thought, half a day at the most. The description read All that part of 150 feet off of the east side of the southwest quarter of the soutwest quarter that lies south of the road.
Looking in the SW/4 SW/4 I found
Southeast corner found stone
southwest corner found iron pin survey in 1995 reports the distance at 1379.04 my measurements 1342.12...Hum I thought I must have something wrong. Reran and my measurement checks
NE corner found iron pin. A subdivision is located across road look for iron pins and find some. Nothing is in a straight line. Call surveyor to north they said it is a fu#@ed up are get the hell out. Called second surveyor he said it been over three years he is not worried about it??????????WTF
Shot in the whole section..wasn't that bad except for their f ups things worked out pretty good in the end. and I may end up with more work there
go figure
For this reason, I hope every job is effed up so that I'm always pleasantly suprised and the end of the day, or it's exactly what I thought.
It's the only way I've found to kick murphys a$$.
Too many firms out there are only concerned with their immediate bottom line. If it isn't simple, make it simple and hope no one ever calls you about it. Criminals are what I call them. They take the client's money, but, deliver a worthless mishmash of bovine excrement.
Do it right or get out of the business.
When things fit well is when I worry.
It is amazing how much monuments can
be off. 10-15 feet in the city and lived
to for 100 years.
I can pace better than that.
