I am preparing a proposalestimate to survey and stake the lines between two siblings.
The need arises from a claim by the brother that the sister had some trees cut down and the brother claims they where on his property so the sister is gonna spring for a survey and line stake.
Now the brother is apparently a difficult person and possibly a bit of a loose cannon at times and according to his sister may get confrontational and threatening. she admitted to being scared of him.
She asked me what could cause the price to go up and I told her the obvious stuff like evidence and such and I also told her that if I get run off the property by her brother then that could cause the price to rise.
How would you tactfully word that?
This is my draft comment but I don't think I should use it:
"If your crazy Looney Tunes brother threatens, obstructs, impedes or interferes in any way the price may be adversely affected."
?ÿ
So...............my sister called you, eh...............
Did she tell you the property was in Kansas???????????
Something like my bid is for 2 days of field work, one day to find property corners, and the 2nd day to stake the property line. If more than 2 visits to the site are needed then those days will be at a cost of X.
You might want to ask the brother to "walk the line" with you. He'll feel better about having some input into the process, and may leave you alone to grub around for further boundary evidence when you start your traverse.

Assumptions are made that access to the property is available. If this is not the case, cost may increase due to delays resulting from denied access.
My $0.02.

Well...................I was not gonna mention it but your avatar very closely resembles the description she gave of her brother.
I had a very similar experience myself years ago.?ÿ Was a rural farmyard, two brothers, common property line.?ÿ With, a tree hedge.?ÿ Apparently, their wives had a falling out.?ÿ Another Survey company went and did the survey, and the pins they planted "disappeared".?ÿ We came and redid the survey, and found everything the initial surveyor did was correct.?ÿ In fact, our pins were falling into the same holes that were left, before the pins were pulled.?ÿ We just didn't flag, leave markers at them. While we were finishing, one of the families were making a show of pulling out their chainsaws to start cutting the trees down.?ÿ I think maybe one of them was actually over the property line, we put out a lathe line to mark them.
I will add, there was one thing very unusual while we did this survey.?ÿ A member of the local RCMP detachment sat with us while we did it.?ÿ It didn't take us very long, as we had the first survey companies notes.?ÿ So finding the existing pins was cake.?ÿ But, I am sure he had something else to do, other then sit with us.?ÿ I feel bad for families like that.?ÿ
How would I word that?
"I'm too busy to get to your survey until 2025."
