I just noticed that the Read Angle command in SurvCE 2 Point Offset routine now provides four options: Slope, Total, Flat, and Progressive. I tried browsing the manuals but I always got the old one.

The 2 Point Offset routine now provides 4 options for the Read Angle command. This is new to me. I found nothing in the manual that pertains to this. Any idea or experience?

Looks like those are the options for how it will get the vertical for the new point.

?ÿ

Slope probably just extends the slope of the two observed points to the final offset point.

Total most likely picks the lowest/highest elevation of the two observed points.

Flat probably holds one of the two observed points. Which one I don't know.

Progressive is odd, I'm a bit stumped by that one. Perhaps it applies the delta between the two observed points to the final one?

?ÿ

Easiest way to figure it out is just to observe four points using each of the routines, then compare the offset point elevation to the observed points values. That's how I used to do it if the manual/help file didn't explain it well.

@rover83 Yes, that would be the best thing to do.
