So looking for some styli for the JettXL. Was referred to a site by a helpful Beerlegger, but the $25 for 3 price tag was not going to happen. Another Beerlegger recommended knitting needles. I found a pack of 5 anodized aluminum, double-ended, 4.5mm needles for $3.99. Cut to length, I netted 10 styli that are perfect. They also had them in bamboo for $8.99. Both came in a wide range of sizes. You don't really "write" on the JettXL, you are just tapping to make different selections, so the tip doesn't need to be anything special.
Beerleg does it again!

Stylus and screen protectors I always buy them when I am placing an order for some item I don't mind spending shipping on, like a new tripod or tape measure.

Natural

Why not cut a bunch of sticks. A Birch tree will provide hundreds of styli. Sharpen an end a little, not to a full point. Wrap a bunch into a rubber band. Lose one, oops, grab the next.

Even with the official stylus, I usually put it away and use a stick, branch, piece of grass. I work on the beach and in the woods, so there I do not have to keep up with the stylish styli of the big city surveyors.

I bought a hundred pack of generic nintendo ds styli for 2 bucks once on amazon. Best investment possible, the little suckers can be stuck anywhere and if you lose one, you just shrug and grab another.

I don't see it now, but I'm not looking all that hard. Here's a 12 pack for 2 bucks though, and you can grab a few.
