Hello,
my name is Nils and I'm a surveyor from Germany. Our company recently bought a Stonex OnePoleSolution which consists of a total station and a GPS from Stonex. The total station is a "R80". The specs look better than my good old Leica 1202+. But I have some issues with the R80. It is not possible for me to lock on to the prism. I can't find the original Stonex prism (passive) with the power search function or with the manual search function. If there is a lock on the prism (if I set the station manually into the heart of the prism) it will be lost if I walk slowly away. Maybe one of you guys has a solution for my problem.
I hope you guys have a nice evening (it's 9pm in Germany right now).
Hi Nils
Talk to the supplier.?ÿ Something is not set correctly, is the GPS on and connected via bluetooth.
My expectation is that prism search is via GPS position to pole, as this is backed up from searching One pole solution online/brouchure.?ÿ
Leica would require ATR (auto target recognition) setting ON.
@kotuku4 Hey kotuku4, the supplier also told me to use the GPS position option to turn the station to the prism, but the lock function has also to work without GPS. If I have good GPS conditions I don't need the total station.
@brad-ott Hi Brad, the Stonex has something similar to the ATR and it is turned on. Don't buy cheap 🙁
The Stonex look a lot like a Geomax, which are (from what I understand) not that much different from your old 1202+ (which are great tools).
Yes, I understand what you are saying.?ÿ And I would expect that there are settings or options for prism tracking.
I have been testing other GNSS receivers, controllers and software/apps and it is quite a learning curve.
A quick glance at the manual does not say much.?ÿ I have had luck with other brands using the GPS robotic track even when you do not have a GNSS fix.?ÿ It will at least get the robot looking in the general area.?ÿ YMMV.
Hi nils?ÿ
?ÿ
Did you resolve this issue, how would you rate the r80??ÿ
