I just found about 60 plats on which I prepared the boundary and they have someone else's seal on them.
Not sure the somebody else has sufficient knowledge of how I determined the boundaries to be able to legally sign those plats.
Out of curiosity, I looked for the name of the grantor of one of the tracts in an online index and was able to find out that a deed was filed with my work, with somebody else's seal, as an exhibit. The spot where it says "Checked by" has my initials but no date.
I just also found out how to download a PDF complain affidavit from the survey board website.
At my parent's rural lakeside residential subdivision, someone recently purchased 6 contiguous lots and has posted a sign saying "roofing company coming here soon". The deeds from 1953 clearly spell out in the restrictions that no commercial purposes are allowed. Might need an attorney to help get an injunction soon, but hoping he is reasonable.
I think the saying "may you live in interesting times" will be applicable this year.
Some deed restrictions have an expiration unless renewed.
It depends upon the existence of an HOA and I'd bet that no roofing company can get past the requirements to be around a lake and probably could not pass a clean air act. Hopefully they are talking about putting shingles on somebody's roof.
I'd believe that you can get some response from the BOR about another signing your plats.
good luck
I hope that justice is served most swiftly against the serpentine critter who did this. I cannot think of any printable words to describe this sort of thing...
The only superior evidence is that which you haven't yet found.
Unfortunately the sign says "future home of so-and-so roofing".
The land is in the county in a 1953 era subdivision and no HOA exists. From the preponderance of information I am finding on the internet, I think I have a legitimate cause. Of course, I will wait til I hear from my attorney but he seems to be taking a long double holiday right now so I get to play junior-home-internet-lawyer until he returns to advise me appropriately.

Look at it this way - he just assumed your liability for them, at no cost to you.
What it is ain't exactly clear....

There's a lot more to the story than I care to share right now but I have a nice packet assembled and ready to mail to Austin next week. Austin being the state capitol and home of the surveying board.

Andy, since they are in fact, your work, and somebody has seen fit to modify them, it would seem that you could get an attorney (use an actor) to call this person, asking for details, about their survey... I have a deed that seems to overlap your survey.... boy we could have fun...
There's something happening here
But what it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun (total station) over there
Telling me I got to bewareI think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound?
Everybody look - what's going down? There's battle (conflicting boundary) lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong...
Step outta (off of) line
The Man come and take you away ...

Very interesting album cover:
Buffalo Springfield included the likes of Stephen Stills, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer, Dewey Martin, Jim Messina and Neil Young. All went on to good productive careers in the music business (I still have all my Poco albums), and three; Stills, Young and Messina, achieved individual "stardom" of sorts in their own rights.
Quite a photo.

Quite a group.

My first step would be to contact this person to find out why.
My guess makes the 'why' question seem very simple. Say you worked for ABC Surveying once upon a time. A few years later someone calls them and needs a boundary survey that is the same parcel that you surveyed through ABC Surveying three years ago. They dust it off, change the date and signature and collect easy money.
But, that's just my guess of how one person might be being using 60 of my old surveys.

I would certainly want to hear their story BEFORE I contacted my Board (and my attorney).
I know the who what when where and why. I will add to the details when it is appropriate.
