Hi all, I just purchased a Sokkia GRX1 Base and Rover

I use to have a Topcon Hiper II Base and Rover but sold it as i was no longer using at the time

Can anyone please tell me if they are the same ?
Can I use Topcon RU with it or do i need to use Sokkia Ru (recievr utility)?

Also can i run a FC250 with Topcon software rather than the carlson software and controller?

Yes, all you mentioned will work. Sokkia often have fewer restrictions.?ÿ
The functional difference is the ports.?ÿ Makes cables for external and serial port connection about twice as expensive.?ÿ Otherwise the same unit.?ÿ Released first as the Sokkia GRX1, replacing the Sokkia Point GPS units with Novatel board technology with Topcon stuff.?ÿ Topcon delayed the release of the Hiper II for a year to give Sokkia time to establish the GRX1 identity in the marketplace.
Topcon TRU and Sokkia SRU are the same program with different window dressing.
