My boss bought a platted lot abutting his ranch. I did a property line stake out for a fence a couple months ago with rtk. That all worked out well, found all the corners and set points on line between them.

Last week he wanted another line staked on the far side of the ranch. I foolishly used the same data collector file. So now I have two coordinate systems in the same file.

Also he thinks it would be a cool idea to have a master map of his entire holdings so I need to get these two systems on the same system. And... here comes the dumb thing.. I said "Sure I can do that." After reviewing the deeds and maps, I realized that I have just undertaken an approximate 4,000 acre survey at 10,000 feet, and nothing is level or even an easy walk.

The beauty is the herds of 40 or so elk, 24 Rocky Mountain sheep, and scattered deer. This project will most likely keep me busy most of the winter if I can get in and out of there due to weather.

If you don't do it, he'll have to hire Daryl.

Excellent opportunity to set up a custom projection.

Yep! I might need a few pointers on that after I collect some data.
