Haven??t been around in awhile as my career took a change, for the better financially. However had experience this morning that only you all could truly appreciate. My firm has been contracted to build a pier & marine rail on an island and its prefect opportunity to dust off the skills for layoutIng the rock sockets & piles.
This morning I??m setting instrument up over a drill hole below the tide line. Being how it??s first light and everything is wet I??m having trouble seeing the point thru the plummet, so place a small white ??rock? on it. Level up, collimate and start my notes. Final check before zeroing & I??m off a little so touch it up a bit and shoot. Off a few hundredths, which odd checks have been low thousands all month. Check the site again and I??m still off??? Adjust, reshoot & its worse, ???ý wtf. Go in for a closer look and my rock is crawling away. Grabbed a Periwinkle ????ÿ
