I know, get rid of the old junk, but I have a crew chief that really likes this gun.
The focus ring is hard to turn. When I took apart an old non-working gun it doesn't seem like much to lubricate. Two screws on the out side a then 4 more inside and you have access to the sticking parts, but what should I use to lubricate and/or what is the correct procedure and am I going to mess up something I don't know about.
Been trying to get my guy to look at the new guns for two years.......
Any thought are appreciated. The dealer who I bought it from doesn't even want to look at this.
If it were me, and it was my instrument I was attempting to PM, I would probably look into some fishing reel lubes and greases.
I use this on reels and it's thin as water for parts that need zero friction, like a bait cast. Geared parts need reel grease instead of oil.
Or you could buy the Set3 that I've got sitting in my closet. PM me for info. I'd let it go for a song....
Most set 3's are out in the boat tied to a rope...... might try a tiny bit of REM-oil.....
