I am thinking of retiring soon, if you were the seller, how much would a wild znl long-nosed plummet be worth.
They have the knob so you can set up over a point and then change the mirror position to see upwards, so you dont have to invert the instrument.
I have 2 units, still with the wild wooden boxes, they are in mint condition, when i finish this job in china, i shall probably have no further use for them.
I first used them late 1970's i think, maybe 1977.
these are not collectors items, but calibrated working instruments, specs say 1 mm in 70 metres, but meaning the readings and and with my special illuminated jig, i have surpassed that many times, the results of my vt. readings were good against modern plummets when site checked by independant sources.
I also have a 75 kg 800mm long x 100mm plumbob which is good when used in pairs in lift shafts, it will easily go 100 metres in a shaft, hung from game fishing wire, multi strand is the safety requirement, as opposed to piano wire.
cheers

you had some replies to your first post, at :

My reply was as follows- on Ebay they show up about 2-3 times a year; last one sold on May 13th 2012 for $1700 plus $100 shipping (if to the US)- was sold by a UK seller (who sells other Wild and Leica gear, and whom I can vouch for having personally purchased some other equipment on Ebay from him.)

A few other sales in the last couple years were in the $1200-$1500 on Ebay.
These are worth more than their original list price. I might be able to find the original list price but the main thing to rememebr is that these are not manufactured anymore. When they went out of production their were allot of calls for this item for surveyors in the "tall" building fields. I would think this item could be sold for at least 20% - 30% of original list price if it is indeed good condition.

Can you provide the name of the eBay seller? Several times I've considered buying some Leica gear from the UK, but have been put off by the fact that it's an out-of-country purchase, and I'm not familiar with the UK scams. Knowing that an item is being sold by a reputable seller would be a great help.
Thanks.
If you are still thinking about selling these we may be interested.

I would be interested in seeing some photos. Do you have an idea of when you might be willing to part with these?
