I recall reading about this sometime ago and recall that some of you may use this "automatic BiPod" so I have a question. How much weight can the rod support? Will it support a gps unit or a 360 glass with a data collector?

Thanks,

Dtp

Use mine with a R-8 and a 360 prism with a TSC3 on the same rod, but you have to keep it lower than 2m. Mine is set at 5.50' for the prism. When I run it up to the 2m mark, it's 6.12 to the bottom of the R8. That's about as high at it will support it.

I agree with what eddycreek says about the heights and not having the rod top heavy. Another thing is that it is not automatic, you have to slide the top of it down to get the legs to come out. I use one almost everytime I do layout work as I do everything solo.

I'm still using a bipod. I like being able to plumb up and fine-tune where I'm setting the tack in the hub with the bipod. It does get kind of heavy at times though. I sometimes develop pain in my biceps from walking around with the rod upright and all the weigh on it.
