I have a project that needs a seal from a surveyor and from an engineer. I prepared the cert. for me with my portion of the drawing and then sent it to the civil. She sent it back with her additions and the cert. reworded as a combined certification. I have always had two seperate certs. and I was just wondering if anyone had signed a combined certification statement.
Yeah, you can only certify to your qualifications and abilities, as well as the civil. I'd punt that baby back with an explanation to that effect so they can sign their own place for their own liability.
Well she wrote the certification where I state what I did and she states what she did but I still don't like. So I'll write one up for her and send it to her and see. At least with this project I'm the one in control (my client).
I like two certs. Punt, and let her come up with her own, don't do her job for her.
To me it all depends on what the words are... Why rock the boat if the words work correctly?
Perhaps she wants to be more closely aligned with the more prestigious world of Land Surveying.
I think she must.;-)
Two Certifications. Less chance of ambiguity.:-P

We are doing all the drafting and so it's kind of up to me anyway. She's really good to work with-she is doing all the calculations and I'm doing the topo and legal work-but this threw me a little; I'd never seen it before. Yeah I like two certs. also.
