Yesterday, one of the crews removed the screen protector from their TSC2- The screen protector was old and wore. Anyway- it appears to have affected the touch screen-
parts of the screen -about 60% has no sheen left and doesn't respond to the stylus- rebooted several times-tried to align the screen, but you can only get center, top right, top left, to respond nothing in bottom left, no luck with anything else- any Ideas?

Dirt along the edges maybe?

Sounds like the tough screen may need replacing.

Good luck

Sorry but it sounds like a new screen.

We always use the recommended screen savers on our Rangers and change them frequently (several months). Some of the brands will ruin your screen as they adhere or burn into them over a long period of time.

Dirt around the edges for us has manifested itself as unwanted presses or erratic behavior but not in a dead area.

I agree w/ Derel. We have had this happen a couple of times. It is far cheaper to replace the protector that the whole screen. We try to our crews to change them out every 3 - 4 months.

Maintenance is the key.

I've never had a screen protector on either one of my touch screens and both look like the day I bought them, over 4 years ago.

Keep them clean and NEVER touch them with anything but your finger or a stylus.

But then it's a lot easier to enforce when you are solo;-)

Get the kind that stick by static electricity. They have no adhesive and are very tough. Put it on, let it sit overnight, and most of the bubbles will disappear.

That's right, don't get the cheap ones from Office Depot with sticky stuff on them.

On a related note, a stylus can be expensive, but cheap plastic tip mechanical pencils work great. Take the leads out. Buy them by the case and make sure the crews have them readily available.
