Found me a new, sort of, Gerber hatchet to add to my roadside treasure tool kit. Bit rusty but nothing a wire brush can??t handle. This job has all the perks!
Bonus!
Whew!!?ÿ Thought maybe you had encountered one of those lot lizards that were mentioned a couple of days ago.
@holy-cow Not this time around but I??m a step up in my zombie apocalypse prepping.
was the saw still in the base of the handle too? ?????ÿ
Found a lump of female clothing in a road ditch one day.?ÿ Notified the authorities.?ÿ Appeared to be one complete outfit, including stockings and underwear, that a homely 14 year-old might wear.?ÿ Or, a really hip 20 year-old.?ÿ Hard to distinguish between the two.
Gained a 12-lb sledge hammer like that one day.?ÿ Used it maybe 50 times before the handle sheared off one day.?ÿ Broke the handle.?ÿ Did not break the head. ???? ?????ÿ
@holy-cow Found something similar while back. Backpack full of young women's cloths and toiletries in the bushes off a back road. Seemed rather suspicious and a little disturbing so we reported it to law enforcement. Found a women's wallet last fall with all her ID but no cash. Tracked her down on FB and she was thrilled to get it back and then asks if I can deliver it to the other side of town to which I told her where she could find it, I was a little busy with something called work.
Wait a minute.?ÿ I thought all cities in Alaska were so small that going to the other side of town meant crossing THE street.
I've been in places where they used the same sign post, twice, for the city limits sign.?ÿ?ÿ
Made money on this job!
@holy-cow True enough for a lot places with the exception of around here which has turned into a sprawling megatropolis over the last twenty years, fastest growing region in the state, which when you throw in a pandemic, high demand for broadband, federal infrastructure money, has been very good for business. Gerber is pure gravy baby!

That drill is a great survey tool!?ÿ (I know not the topic, but...)
@dmyhill A bow to the Bionicman for the recommendation. Beats pounding a frost pin.
I believe I have found at least one full toolbox of tools over the years.?ÿ Screwdrivers were always appreciated for use as a "turtle" when running levels.?ÿ I had a crew chief find a Krugerand (sp?) in the gutter one time.?ÿ Nowadays that's worth some serious money.?ÿ He had it melted down and made a ring for his daughter, nice Daddy.
