Is there a good way to search for how land was reallocated when a road was moved? I can't seem to find out anything. Searched appropriations and also anything by New York or the county and town. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "reallocated"? Usually, when a road is moved, the road existed as a public right of way, which is an easement for public use over private property. Changing the location of the right of way doesn't change the private ownership. In effect, the owner of the land prior to the road, or more likely the "successor in interest", regains unencumbered use of the land formerly occupied by the road.

According to the deed it says "exempting also lands taken for relocated highway (containing an estimated 51 acres)". This was exempted from the larger parcel that our property came from.

I was hoping to find something. I saw where there was another road moved it stated land taken and given for the relocating. But I can't find anything for our property. Was thinking that maybe a description there would say some boundary lines would be mentioned with better detail. I have searched every property nearby also hoping for a detailed description and ended up with nothing.
