Was wondering if any of you could provide me any clues as to which direction I should start looking.

Trimble Pro XRS (era 2000) resource grade backpack GPS units. The controller is a TSC1 running Asset Surveyor.

The problem is this....the unit will power up...the unit will connect to the reciever....download the almanac.....the never lock on a sat. If you look at the sky plot, it shows only 3 or 4 sats. where in reality there is probably 7 within the 15° elev. mask.

The initial position is correct. I have checked for loose cables.

I'll check back on Monday and see if anyone has any advice other than trouble shoot the cables.

JRL

Reboot the TSC1. If that doesn't work,
Reflash the firmware.

I forget what the last suggestion was, prior to shipping it to a Trimble Authorized Service Center. I use one in Houston, that I'll give you the name of if you'd like.
