Relocating Monuments - What we did

Tom,

Yes I know that some surveyors have completed monument records for these range line points, that are deposited with the State Board. But how many surveyors that do work in Denver, know of the Tie Notes that reference these Range Points?

Or for that matter - How many surveyors know that the majority of Denver was "Officially Re-Surveyed"

Here is a copy of:
1) The original survey - 1888
2) The Official Survey - 1942 (that established the Range Lines)
for the same properties / area we are talking about

Here's where the problem come in

Look at the dimension of Lots 30 & 48, Block 9,

Some surveyor working off the original plat map and then some surveyor working off the re-survey map, could come up with different placements of corners.

6th,
I was aware of a lot of that. A lot of surveyors come out and find whatever chisel marks they can find, and do whatever they need to do. Many streets are nearly impossible for a surveyor to actually get in to and block off traffic and dig up monuments. Denver has gone through a lot of changes, and their engineering department actually used to go out and survey in people's lots. I looked up the surveys done on my block when I lived there. They set hubs for the corners; and it must have ben by request as their notes would involve one or two lots at a time.

It seemed like a typical engineering type endeavor in that they relied on resurveying it for better accuracy (I guess) and didn't respect original monumentation. But forgive me. It sounds like I am talking to someone who has done a ton more property surveying in Denver than I have.
