Lot of folks don't calibrate. How do you do pin search with your GPS if you don't calibrate to the old survey?

I've always been very careful using a calibration. Usually only a two point calibration. I never had a blow-up using my old TSC 2 5800 system like this one.

Pretty much the same way we did it with a transit and tape!

Inasmuch as virtually ALL of my retracement work involves GLO/BLM PLSS and/or US Mineral Surveys, I can generate a temporary (or even FINAL) LDP definition long before I/we ever hit the ground. Once a SINGLE corner/monument is recovered and tied in, we're off to the races.
