Is the rebar the right size, approximately of the right age, set firmly, match verified originals?

You can easily build a case that the preponderance of evidence points to it being an original. This is an example of why we are professionals, not technicians. There is no set of rules that will answer this for us.

For some perspective, when surveying federal boundaries or in states that adopt the BLM manual for private boundaries, the original can be "found" even if the stone, pipe, stake, or pit is completely destroyed. An original is only lost when there is no evidence of its location and the only solution is proportioning (for which there is a set of rules for most situations).?ÿ
