But are they open and notorious??ÿ Do they put the public on alert that someone is staking their claim??ÿ I agree with your theory regarding permanence of the marker, but I place a larger value on the concept of the public seeing a true monuments, ie something that clearly attests to the importance of a location.?ÿ It'd be interesting to discuss the definition the word monument with a judge.?ÿ Perhaps there's some case law to this.?ÿ
I've been tempted to bury all the rebar I set and place 1"pvc pipes near them, as I don't think wood stakes last long enough or a stand out enough to be considered notice of monumentation.
