I have a couple of small Samsung tablets.?ÿ They are cheap enough you don't have to worry about damaging them unintentionally and small enough to fit in a vest pocket (I think the last one I bought was less than $200 for the newest generation Tab A7 Lite).?ÿ Weather resistant ruggedized cases are readily available.?ÿ You can tether them to a hotspot for internet coverage.?ÿ They make it easier to keep plans or records with you in the field.?ÿ I will admit I have not taken a photo with them for field work but the camera works well enough that it should be fine.
