Both units were used yesterday in a base rover RTK configuration. This morning they were taken out of town and upon set up neither the base nor the rover would recognize any satellites upon start up. Any one else experience something similiar. A soft boot was done to both units with no success. I have a hard time believing both units experienced the same hardware failure overnight. I also do not believe it is an issue of having to wait for the units to aquire a new almanac. Anyone else having this problem today? Anyone else experience the same problem in the past? Thanks for your help!

If you're in Iran, I'd be looking for cover. Other wise somebody screwed your setting up.

Yes, had exactly the same thing happen several years ago. The Leica rep e-mailed me a file and then everything was back to normal. Something had rolled over the night before, or something like that.

Yeap non trimble gear had a similar issue.?ÿ Needed to load permanent registration codes for the receivers, usually something a dealer does before sending out units to customer.?ÿ

I'd be looking to see if the military was doing any GPS testing in that area.?ÿ I'm a pilot and am frequently surprised by the amount of NOTAMS that are posted warning of possible GPS interference or unavailability in certain areas.?ÿ Charleston was the most recent one that I saw a month or so back.?ÿ

@stephen-ward

Thank you all for the comments. Stephen, the NOTAMS had slipped my mind as we have never been directly impacted by those testing areas in the past. I will investigate that possibility. I did get assurances from our dealer that it is not an expiration of some internal authorization file. Our 2 heads are supposed to be fully functional without any future expiration dates. If I'm able to identify the root cause I'll pass that information on to the community here. So far it is still a mystery.

Stephen, I think you nailed it. I found NOTAMS for the area we were in that indicate jamming of NAV GPS during the time frame we couldn't see satellites. Today and back outside the area of jamming the units work as expected without any other changes being made. Thank you.
