Questions on the old Geodimeter stations?

I think I might have a solution though basic. In our machining business, we drive some of the best CAD software on the market. I can create a drafting file and generate points and geometry however I like. This would not really be linked to any file or data I could download from the station, but at least it would be a way for me to plot points on a map and identify their positions.

We also communicate our program files via RS232 so we have a program to invoke the communication link and either send or receive data. I am hoping, unless these older stations must have some type of proprietary link, I should be able to at least get some sort of txt file from the control unit.
