A first for me.
Maybe the dog will be able to help find these. If there is still something rotten attached for her to roll in.
Don?

Well, you should know when you find an original corner
Dang Bob, that's a new one on me! Frank Gaspa and Nickerson are familiar names though! LOL
I believe they used to make whale bone corsets to get the ladies looking shapely. Maybe you will find some lingerie in your search.
I once came across a deed which called for horse bones at the corners. Didn't actually find any, though.
I'd be going with our sacred cow here and punt.
I find it very interesting that the M & B crowd looks to the PLSS crowd for something or other. Or just us Leggers in general. Lots of info here!!
The common theme is always a big old fashioned 'huh'. No biggy IMO, so we sort it out.
Hope you got a good retainter....
I've always been taught that it is good to use materials that are readily available and set them where they would stand apart from what is there.
Definitely not a whale bone to be found around here.
Coyotes would make soup of it overnight.
😉
I one saw old notes that the surveyor said that he believed the corner was under a ripe stinky dead cow.
Verification to be at a later date.
Randy
Some are ripe and stinky long before they die. But, most have better hygiene practices.
Our monumentation is set out in Regulation:
ONTARIO REGULATION 525/91
formerly under Surveys Act
MONUMENTS
Just to put you at ease, it appears that the Reg. is ultra vires !
Cheers,
Derek
