A nearby city had a certain addition to it come into existence in the late 1800's. ?ÿThen, about 1910 about 15 locks and their related streets and alleys were vacated in a single act of the State legislature. ?ÿFine.

The catch is that there are streets and alleys functioning today as if the vacation never happened. ?ÿDeeds call for something like: Lots 2 and 3 in Block 9 as platted in vacated Pleasure Park Addition.

Recalling from memory from about 60+ years ago when I worked with the old plats while employed by the City of Sheridan, this area must be on or close to Leopard Street.?ÿ The old Sheridan Ditch used to run at the base of Linden Hill and was used as our sled jump when I was in grade school at Linden School. There were 3 kids at the school that had the fastest sleds and could jump farther than anyone else past the ditch, Tom Warnke, Jim Bennett, & Bing Brouilette.

Like all other old schools in this state that one us gone, a shame really because it was community built, a beautiful school. I worked in it for two summers helping the janitor prepare it for the next year.

Find out which county supervisor chairs the GIS oversight committee, and call him to explain the problem if the GIS crew won't change it.
