Coming up on 42 years surveying - have been unemployed for 5 days during that time...
Over 51 years in surveying. Been unemployed five days in that time - three days while I drove across the country to a new job, and two days between leaving the last job and forming my own company.
I've been unemployed 1 day since March 23, 1984.
I switched majors to Geomatics in 2006, got my degree in 2009 and have been surveying in the oil and gas industry since 2011. I got my PLS in Louisiana last year; have yet to stamp anything.
I don't have much boundary experience except being a rodman/Iman for a year back home in Florida doing ROW and section work. It all kind of scares me if something of "real/ boundary surveying" comes up, but I just have to tell myself "Just because I haven't done it doesn't mean I don't know how to do it." I guess that's what you go to school for nowadays. Internships and all, I have about 5 years in surveying, and I enjoy most of it, but would like to broaden my spectrum and work in other areas as I get older.
