The founder's death in 2015 says much about how the operation went downhill.

Yep, been around all of my career, but hasn't been the same for quite some years.

I used to love getting pob.?ÿ

It seemed to became somewhat an infomercial, and lost its practical side.?ÿ

The younger crowd don't read magazines or newspapers.?ÿ I barely read them any more.?ÿ I'm sure that part of it is POB's doing, but I think it's a trend in the industry itself

I answered an ad in POB and that's how I got to where I am today.

The owner, Sam Hanna, said to me when I told him I answered an ad in POB, "That ad actually worked?".

I learned a fair amount from POB in my greenhorn days as a surveyor in the early 1990s, even though back then it was 100% construction surveying for me. Especially enjoyed reading articles from Jerry Broadus since he hails from my area. As others have commented, the last few years of POB lacked the same quality of content compared to earlier stuff.

The comics were also pretty good.

My interest in the magazines began to wain when I hooked up with message boards like this one.?ÿ Nowadays, the only time I think about any of them is when they come up in conversation here.
