I mean no disrespect to anyone on this board for posting this picture and I will leave it to the administration of this board to determine whether this is appropriate or not, but this Professional Surveyor believes that this picture is crucial to be visually seen by all field personal as it would be shown in any HAZMAT, OSHA & MSHA safety classes that accidents like this can and will happen when you are not aware of your surroundings, Know where you are at all times and what is around you, Heavy equipment will win every time. Please Please be safe out there... bless our fallen brother....
I'm still trying to decide if this is a photoshop job or not. The gun looks awfully intact compared to the operator, as does is left hand. But if it's real, it's a terribly grisly scene.
IÛªm sure the families and friends of the surveyors listed below appreciate your sincere and poignant post. I sure donÛªt, but hey, I guess IÛªm just a prick when it comes to dumbshits

I'll call 'FAKED' here
I see several inconsistencies...
The de-gloving of the left leg does not match with a crush injury
There are no tracks or dirt on the body
The injuries to the right leg injuries are not consistent with the position of the tracks in the dirt
The viscera below the feet is wrong for a vehicle moving left to right
There is no hard-hat which would be mandatory on a heavy worksite
Hope I'm not proven wrong....

And I was just about to set down to some bacon & eggs. Jeez. I've managed to survive 40-some years of surveying on construction sites, interstate highways, multi-story buildings, near-vertical shale slopes, &tc.. No one ever showed me a picture like that when I was a green hand, and yet I survived. Overkill. No pun intended; I hope Wendell takes it down.
If that's a legit picture (which I greatly doubt, given the lack of damage to the tripod and the leg at the top of the picture it appears that the individual was run over by a 50 ton unicycle. Who doesn't notice something as out of place as a 50 ton unicycle.) then it is in poor taste to post it; even as a warning of sorts.
If that's a staged picture, then (IMVHO) it's in poor taste to post it, for the reasons alluded to by Mr. Berry above.
Hmmm...there seems to be a common denominator in my two statements.
Not cool! Take er down!
