April 23, Lake Michigan covered in ice! Cherry trees getting ready to bud?

May 2, Still some ice burgs floating out there, but hard to see in picture. Had to walk through some snow on the NE side of hills this day. Yes, raining

May 14, NO SNOW on the big lake! This house has the best view in all of Leelanau County. This is only about 90 degrees of their 180 degree view of Lake Michigan and the Manitou Islands.

Not sure how the bowling balls help the view, but I'm a surveyor not an artist?

This guy was moving slow, as it was only 30 and some flurries falling this morning.

Is the umbrella on a detail pole and bipod?

It's on my extra 16' pole (it's HEAVY) and held by a Topcon bi-pod that has a third small leg. I just tie with flagging at top of umbrella and the handle. It is rare for me to work in the rain, but the snow stayed around so long this spring that I am way behind.

I use a 6' long aluminum u-channel, drive it an inch or two into the ground, strap a golf umbrella to it with Velcro straps. Pull it up when ready to move setup. Light, easy to carry.
