i have one drawing that needs a zoomed in detail. Drawing is setup at 100 scale, detail at 10. The being that the detail (viewport) is on the same sheet as the drawing (viewport) the linetype is 10 times to big.

Below is the 100 scale:

Below is the 10 scale:

I know there is a way, I have done it before, albeit with LDD, but I am sure there is a way in Carlson 2012. Any help....

There is probably a better way but I type "properties", highlight the lines that need the line type scale changed and change it in the properties box. Of course, that means copying those lines over to the side in model space and creating another viewport in paper space.

That does the trick. Thank you. The followup question would be...

Is there anyway after this to have the linetype in model space still appear at 100 scale. I know that is a tall order, but it sure would be nice...

Dude, I copy it to a different part of the drawing, annotate it at the original scale, scale it up (or down) then change text size to the appropriate size. It takes like 30 seconds. I have no idea if there are other ways of doing it as I am self taught on AutoCAD and this works for me.

I have a lisp in my startup suite called LTScaler. It relies on the variable DIMSCALE. When I switch to paper space, it changes LTSCALE to 1. When I switch back to model space, it changes LTSCALE back to whatever DIMSCALE is set to. I can email to you if you want.

I used to do that, but to many times I have made a revision to the map and then missed the detail... So I am reluctant to do it anymore.

Well you just need to draft so that there are never any revisions. 🙂

Boy... wouldn't that be nice.
If I found a drafter that could do that I would hire in a heart beat.
