Ran across this little nipper today.. Just had a feeling there would be a gator in this area, sheltered from the wind, not many golfers around, and right by the water. I can come back later to check the property corner that is probably about ten feet from her.

Is gator hide too thick for a cattle-prod to be effective?

Just wondering...not that I would even get close enough to use one.

They would most likely rip a cattle prod out of your hand if you got that close to them. They are super quick when startled. I give them a wide berth.

Protected here on the island. But a nuisance gator can be removed by officials.

In my neighborhood when I come across something that looks like that I pick it up and move it.

Every time I've crossed paths with a gator they will slide into the water.
I know that if a reptile does not move or get out of the way it is gonna attack or it is waiting for backup.
