Well, actually twice in one day if you're on a 12 hour clock, but it is a rare event.
Many times counting all the different time zones.............
Ah good point Dave. I teach my daughter mathematics. We both love pie. We'll be eating some pie about 930 next Saturday morning... and maybe next Saturday night since you brought up 12 hour clocks.
I am gonna stand up and yell "PI DAY !!" at the boys basketball game that Saturday morning at 9:26:53 am.
Do you suppose this is the Pi apocalypse?
We planned a BBQ and Game Day with some friends without even thinking about the fact that it will be Pi Day. But I think we are planning to eat cake...
Also, it is unfortunate that most of the rest of the world can't celebrate this since they use a different date format (14/03/15) for that day.
It's been a couple of years, but my son used to have it memorized out to almost 200 decimal places.
:good:
My wife's workplace celebrates it because of a math major who used to work there. I think it's a bunch of nonsense just exactly because of the format problem.
The only proper date format is from large unit to small unit. Since there is such a mix of formats in use, I always write out the month in letters, not numbers. The exception is when I add a date to a filename for backup purposes, where I don't have to worry about anybody else's format and that makes it sort well.
