reading thru the grantor grantee indexes today and the description block is marked "see inst."
I truly feel sorry for those of you
I truly feel sorry for those of you who do not have access to the true indexes and must attempt to wade through the grantor/grantees indexes to find anything. That must really succcc.
We would go nuts if we could not go directly to the quarter-section or quarter-quarter section search for each section. Having each subdivision's indexes down to block and lot is also wonderful.
I feel your pain.

Welcome to my world. And we don't have title offices to call - we do our own research on our property and all adjoining owners.
And don't get me started on ....
churches. Some clerks index everything under "church", some index by name of church, some index by denomination, and I've even seem some indexed by trustees. And sometimes this changes in a county everytime there's an election.
Another fun one is government agencies.
One of mine is condemnation dockets. If property is condemned (right of way, easement, fee simple...) it SHOULD go into the Grantor/Grantee. Wrong. I've spent literally days searching court records for a condemantion case only to find the docket is stored off site and have to get it retrieved so I could check it. GRRRRR.

Yeah, I'd like to add also, when the county employee tells me that I can't see the old books because they're in the cellar. I insist that I need them, and then when she sees that I'm not going to take no, she makes a big deal, but brings the books up, one at a time.
Some of them spend more time and work trying not to do their jobs than it would be to just do it.
