Is this stuff any good?

https://www.llbean.com/llb/search/?freeText=mens+bug+repellant&init=1

Nothing beats being in the outdoors, but nothing makes a day outdoors challenging like a swarm of biting insects. Our men's insect-repellent pants takes care of all that. It's treated with permethrin, a synthetic form of a naturally occurring bug repellent so you can be free of insects ƒ?? including ticks, black flies and mosquitoes ƒ?? effectively and easily.

What I learned from reading five reviews is that the shirts look good and have a great fit.  I was interested in how well they repelled after multiple washings.  100% Deet is very effective against mosquitoes.  Dangerous living appeals to me.

I've not bought the pre-treated clothes, but I have used the Sawyer bottles of permethrin to treat my clothes for the past several years.  I've gotten so few ticks on me that I'm a convert.  So far this year, I have been in an area that is just a tick fest multiple days and only had one get through (I think I had a t-shirt on that was not treated).  I can get about half way through the summer before having to retreat.

Still need something for exposed skin to protect against mosquitos.

Ya just have to bite them before they bite you.  Mayflies and mosquitoes i dab a little avon skin so soft in a shallow tube of bath water.  No fancy smell goods.   For ticks the big P.  I spray the clothes down and let set.  Deet is good for the flies and mosquitoes but i have had a hard time finding 100% deet anymore. The FAA use to try and regulate those down home in Mississippi but they refused to comply.

There is a place you can send your favorite clothes and get them pretreated and I believe they are good for 100 washings or something like that.  Matt Sibole told me about it and he does that every year.

Looks like they also sell pretreated clothes cheaper than LL Bean:

@brad-ott That is awesome.  I might give that company a try next go around as the treating process is a little messy using the spray bottles I linked.

Replying to bring this one towards the top in case anyone wants to try this company out.

Sent some stuff in earlier this year for treatment. Seemed to go fine, but tick season has only barely started here so I haven't had a real test of the treatment yet. The price for one shipping bag is not too dissimilar from what I usually spend on bottles and treat my clothes on a DIY basis. Of the claimed 10 - 15 garments that can fit in the shipping bag, I was able to put 10 items in - (2) pants, (4) shirts, (4) socks.

Given the length of time their treatment is supposed to last compared with the spray bottle, the price is not bad at all. I only got 1/2 the items I usual treat with bottles treated by them, but their treatment is supposed to last about 3 times longer. After confirming their treatment works well, I might send in another set of items.

I also ordered a couple of their treated long sleeve shirts to try out. They are really light weight, so it has been a little too cool to try one out.

They had a very quick turn around time on both the to be treated items as well as the ordered pretreated items.

I will help and give this a bump. We are right around the corner from the season for sure. We use to treat our own in the USMC basically had a washing of the stuff in a machine. It worked well. Ticks were the worst so that is some good stuff.
