Hi all

I currently run a leica 1100 robotic with a topcon tesla running survce via a parani sd1000 bluetooth on either end.

The tesla has long range bluetooth already. Has anyone tried running a setup using a parani on the total station and connecting to a tesla (or similar) bluetooth?

Thanks

Matt, we do this kind of thing all the time - should work just fine. We regularly achieve 1,400' with a 5dBi antenna on the SD1000 and about half that with the regular nub antenna (1dBi) to a class I BT device.

You'll need to ensure the connection between the instrument and the Parani is correct and then that your 1100 is sending communications through the RS232 port using congruent parameters (baud). Then it is just a matter of pairing the Parani with your Tesla, which is a simple matter, and choosing the correct port within SurvCE. The Parani Quick Guide will help you understand the pairing procedure.

If you encounter problems you can give us a call or you can try running a search for Parani on this thread. There is a litany of threads discussing settings, cabling, and more.

regards,
Isaac
