Anybody else notice that only one sole is chewed up on your pair of boots?
My left boot sole is a wreck compared to the right one.

I am right handed.
These boots were re-soled about 5 years ago.
I carry the GPS rover mostly in my left hand.
When bending, I flex the right foot, not the left (see pic below).
Using shovel for digging, use left and right feet equal amount.
So, why the un-even degradation?
Do a sole check, and see if there is a pattern…

Your left foot sole is apparently taking more abuse than your right.
For me it is my right sole wearing out first, especially the toe form kicking dirt away and using it as brake to come to a stop and for launching and landing over obstacles.
My left sole takes wear at the arch from use getting over fences.
😉
My left sole wears differently because of the getting on and off the 4-wheeler. I use it quite a bit.
The soles were not resoled with the same sole. The yellow stamp sole is a higher quality sole and thus it shows less wear.
May I suggest you wear you vans when skateboarding and not your work boots?
I doubt anyone has both legs exactly the same length. How you walk/shuffle/amble is more than enough to account for variations between soles and heels wear. No mystery here, move along.
WINNER!
:good:

I agree. Very perceptive.
WINNER!
Wow never even considered the possibility of different quality of soles.
Not that I'm a shoe salesman, but this is a good durability testimony to consider when purchasing a new set of boots.
Thanks!
5 years on a resole? I cant get more than two out of a pair of boots when I work in the field regularly.
I can tell you don't carry a plumb bob on a regular basis either. No Belt.
B-)
I don't skimp on boots, and only by rotating out three pairs at a time can I get a year out of a pair. Mine all blow out at the sides long before the soles even get close to wearing out. Either the leather splits or the stitching separates. My present rotation is one pair of Lacrosse, one pair of Doc Martins (hands down the most comfortable) and a pair of Justins. I clean all three every Sunday and use mink oil to keep them waterproofed.
I'm just curious, does anyone else have this problem? At 155 lbs., I doubt it is a weight issue. FWIW, my 100' pacing is dead on 34 paces.

3. You have a sidestep to assist getting in the survey chariot
4. When climbing into the bed of the truck you put your left foot on the bumper
5. You push barbed wire fence out of the way when taking shots
6. Your pet Doberman finds your left boot to be tastier
