This surveyor was mentioned a few days ago.
Lloyd Baker is not just any old surveyor.

Here is some info from an older news story.

Lloyd Baker performed his first field surveys in Cokeville, Wyoming in 1937. More recently, in the week of his 100th birthday party, attended by more than 300 invited guests, Lloyd was once more in the field, surveying Star Valley, Wyoming.

For his first survey in 1937, Baker employed a plane table surveying instrument consisting of a drafting board on a tripod with paper and pencil, a scale and homemade alidade. Today, Lloyd surveys in dual- frequency RTK using an Ashtech Z-FX reference station and Ashtech Z-FX rover mounted on a 4 x 4 ATV.

In the intervening years, Baker has also worked as a chief surveyor for the Bechtel Corporation working on some of the nation’s most prestigious construction projects, designing site plans for the Carlin Gold mine in Nevada, the first 22 miles of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), and as Chief surveyor for nuclear power plants in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Lusby, Maryland and Waterford, Connecticut. A graduate of the University of Wyoming, Baker founded his survey firm, Lloyd B. Baker and Associates, in Mountain View, California where he was also City Engineer and joined Rotary in 1950. Baker taught physics at Utah State in 1943 and 1944 and engineering and mathematics at Boise College in 1944 and 1945. He resumed the firm’s business upon returning to his Wyoming roots in 1974. The firm has completed surveys and engineering projects in Santa Clara County, California, Utah, Idaho as well as western Wyoming.

Baker has been a dedicated Ashtech GPS surveyor since the first Ashtech products were manufactured. For office calculations he uses Traverse PC and Visual Cadd software for preparing maps. The firm, which has employed nearly 100 since coming to Star Valley, is now composed of Baker and his colleague Scott White.

I used to think I wanted to be like that when I grow up.

I'm impressed at what he has.

I wonder if he uses the internet much?

Wouldn't that be something to get an experienced guy like that to participate here, sharing his wisdom?

On a tangent...
I was in Real Estate CE yesterday and the instructor introduced a special attendee,
Mr J.D., 101 years old. His license was only 2 digits.
